What we know so far about Ida's NYC, NJ victims after record storm: report

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — At least 13 people in New York City and 23 in New Jersey lost their lives due to the remnants of Category 4 Hurricane Ida.

NBC 4 reports that while only some of the victims have been publicly identified, with extraordinary rain totals many fatalities are believed to have succumb to the storm's historic flooding. Here's what we reportedly know of the victims so far:

NYC - 13 fatalities:

Mingma Sherpa, 48, her son Lobsanj Lama, 2, and his father Ang G. Lama, 50, were found by police late Wednesday after responding to flooding near a 64th street home.

• Roberto Bravo, 66, were discovered in a Brooklyn home after authorities responded to a 911 call about flooding waters.

• Phamatee Ramskriet, 43, and her son Khrishah Ramskriet, 22, were found in their Queens basement late Wednesday.

• Darlene Hsu, 48, was also found by authorities in Queens along the Grand Central Parkway.

• Yue Lian Chen, 86, died in her Upper East Side apartment on 84th street as the NYPD responded to food waters late Wednesday.

• Two unidentified women and a man were found in a basement apartment on a Queens' Beck Avenue before Thursday afternoon.

• Mayor Bill de De Blasio confirmed the death of one unidentified victim Thursday as the NYPD reported on another.

New Jersey - 23 fatalities:

• 18 victims unidentified victims were reported killed by state and local officials throughout the state.

• Four people — including the family of a 72-year-old woman, her 71-year-old husband and their 38-year-old son — as well as their 33-year-old neighbor were found at Oakwood Plaza Apartments in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

• Passaic County had one unnamed fatality from flood waters.
