Twins roll out new food options, Target Field experiences ahead of home opener

It's that time of year where the Minnesota Twins unveil all of Target Field's new food and experiences for the season.

Some of the highlights include a Hmong sausage and rice noodle bowl, a super pretzel, loaded potatoes, and cochinita pork sliders. For the sweet tooth, a giant TRex cookie is making its debut this year.

Tina Rexing is the owner and she says the giant cookies are made to share.

“It’s a long game, and people walk around and eat,” Rexing says. “So my cookies are perfect for this, especially family-oriented, because you have to share it. Some people don’t, but it’s an option.”

Target Field is making sure even dogs don't go hungry at the ballpark this year too. Susan Carter is with Must Be Ruff, a Brooklyn Park-based gourmet dog treat business. They'll be available in the new Creator's Corner near Gate 34.

"We're in Minnesota, we love dogs," says Carter. "Dogs are a part of our family. We want them to have good stuff just like we do."

This year's new offerings also include some fun cocktails like a Thai basil Bloody Mary and a Whisky-Sota, pairing locally-distilled bourbon with strawberry-ginger lemonade and ginger beer.

For the Twins’ 14th season at their downtown Minneapolis ballpark, they’re delivering even more locally-sourced flavor to enhance the Target Field food, beverage and retail experience.

The team has again partnered with foodservice and retail partner Delaware North in laying out a variety of new specialty items – many with a connection to the Twin Cities – across general concession areas at Target Field for the 2023 season.

“Since Target Field first opened its gates in 2010, we have prided ourselves on being one of the most hyperlocal ballpark food experiences,” said Pete Spike, Delaware North’s general manager at Target Field. “This offseason, we continued to refine our menus and work closely with the Twins and our local partners to add even more variety with a hometown connection.”
