In a video posted on his agency's Twitter account, Vikings WR announced that he has agreed to restructure his contract and will remain in purple for the 2022 season.

In the video, Thielen says he's excited for the change in leadership with the team.

"What's up Vikings fans. I guess you can't get rid of me yet. I'm super excited to be back in purple to ultimately try to bring a championship to this city that so much deserves it. So excited about the leadership and everything that is being put in place in this organization and can't wait to get back to work and build on something special."

Many NFL insiders placed Thielen as a trade target for the Vikings as they try to maneuver under the salary cap. They have now restructured contracts with Thielen, QB Kirk Cousins and Safety Harrison Smith.

Thielen played in 13 games for the Vikings in 2021. He had 726 yards with 67 receptions and 10 touchdowns.
