Police are investigating after a 12 year old boy was shot following an argument in a Minneapolis neighborhood. Minneapolis Police have confirmed the boy died.
It happened this afternoon near 8th Avenue North and Aldrich Avenue. Minneapolis Police say the 12 year old who was shot is in critical condition, and that it was another juvenile who did the shooting.
"Shocks the conscious," said Officer Garrett Parten with Minneapolis Police. "It upsets us as police, it upsets the community. We have numerous community groups out here, A Mother's Love, Push For Peace, and others who are supporting the efforts here, and comforting the community that, again, is shocked at senseless violence."
Parten says the suspect is also a juvenile who reportedly fled the scene in an SUV. No arrests have been made.
Police say the shooting followed some sort of argument.
