Buffalo clinic shooting victim remembered as mother and friend

Lindsay Overbay, 37, killed when gunman opened fire in Allina Clinic Tuesday

We're learning more about the woman who was killed in Tuesday's clinic shooting in Buffalo.

Lindsay Overbay, 37, was the mother of two young children. She was working at the Allina Clinic in Buffalo as a medical assistant.

Naiya Stubbe met Lindsay when they both were going to school in St. Cloud, and they immediately became close friends.

"She was the best person. She was one of the best mothers I've ever met. She lived and breathed for her children."

Stubbe says she took in Overbay's two children last night as Lindsay's husband and family decided how to tell them about what happened to their mother.

"I've been in contact with her family, and they did tell them earlier this afternoon. One of them does not understand, and the other one does understand is is devastated."

Subbe has started a GoFundMe account to raise money for Overbay's 8-year old son and five-year old daughter. She says it's impossible to make sense out of what happened Tuesday.

"All she did, she went to her job. She went to work. It's just crazy to me."

Gregory Ulrich, 67, is suspected of opening fire in the Allina Clinic late Tuesday morning, killing Overbay and injuring four others. Ulrich is expected in court Thursday in Wright County.
