Dolal Idd's family stood inside Minneapolis City Hall on Tuesday morning, demanding answers about his death.

Idd, 23, was shot and killed on December 30 as Minneapolis police performed a traffic stop as part of a, "probable cause weapons investigation."

On Tuesday, Lee Hutton III, the family's lawyers, called for greater transparency in the investigation.

"Anytime there is a situation with excessive force, not only for the Idd family, but the community of Minneapolis, for society in general, and humanity, we should always inflict strict scrutiny with regard to the review of excessive force," said Hutton.

Hutton said his office wants to be part of the strict scrutiny review of what lead to Idd's death.

"Many times you see lawyers grandstanding and talking about many issues," he said. "I'm not ready to do that yet because we need more information."

Hutton's demanding that the City of Minneapolis release all of the police camera footage from the shooting. So far, the city has released one video showing police boxing Idd's car in and then engaging in gunfire. The video, released less than 24-hours after his death, show's Idd was the first to open fire.

"Why aren't all the videos in the possession of the public?," Hutton said. "Why aren't they in the review of the family?"

Hutton also said the Idd's need to know more about why their family home was raided hours after Dolal was killed. Video from that raid shows deputies from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office entering the home in the early morning hours of December 31. It was later revealed that investigators were serving a high-risk search warrant, where no weapons were found.

Moving forward, Hutton says he's asking to meet with Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey, Minneapolis police chief Medaria Arradondo, and Hennepin County sheriff Dave Hutchinson, who has already reached out to the Idd family.

So far, the Idd family has not filed any civil litigation against the City of Minneapolis, however Hutton said that is pending.
