Workers at Lunds & Byerlys have announced a potential three-day strike, which would begin on Thursday and run through Saturday if contract negotiations fail.
More than 2,500 employees at 22 different Lunds & Byerlys locations have filed an unfair labor practice strike that will see workers walk off the job.
Their last deal expired in March, and progress toward a new one has been slow. Union president Rena Wong says other grocery stores like Cub have found a way to pay workers more.
The strike comes as one of the more busy grocery store weekends approaches, thanks to the Fourth of July.
Sides are back at the negotiation table today, hoping to avoid the strike altogether and come to some sort of a contract agreement.
