Minnesota Energy Resources has called in an expert in digging to serve as its new ambassador, who will work to remind Minnesotans to call before putting their shovel in the ground.
In promotion surrounding the importance of calling 81, Minnesota Energy Resources has employed the help of their new “ambassa-dog,” Rocky, who knows a thing or two about digging in the yard.
No matter where you live, gas, electric, and water lines may be underground, and before you start your garden this season or dig for any reason, Minnesota Energy Resources says to call 811.
A spokesman for Minnesota Energy Resources, Matt Cullen, says the best practice is to call days prior to digging to ensure your outdoor work is safe.
Throughout 2023, Rocky will be featured in Minnesota Energy Resources’ safe digging campaign, encouraging safe practices for Minnesotans.
