A shooting Sunday afternoon at George Floyd Square in south Minneapolis left one man dead and another with life-threating injuries.
Officers with the Minneapolis Police Department responded to 38th and Chicago at 12:50 p.m. and found an adult male in his 20s with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds lying near the intersection and a second adult male in his 20s with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds lying in an alley west and south of the intersection.
Both men were taken to Hennepin Healthcare. One of the men died at the hospital.
The death marked the city's 58th homicide of the year. Police are looking for at least one suspect and said Sunday afternoon that unconfirmed reports from the scene indicate that gun and other evidence may have been removed from the scene before they arrived.
