Authorities are not saying how two people died in an apparent double-homicide in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of St. Paul.
Their bodies were found by police when they arrived Thursday at the scene on the 1100 block of Lawson Avenue.
"As officers did arrive in the area, they detained a male," said St. Paul police sergeant Mike Ernster. "Preliminary information indicates that this male is a suspect in this case."
That man remains in custody.
"I ask everyone to keep the victims in this case, and their families, in their thoughts as they bear the burder of this senseless tragedy," Ernster said.
Names are not released.
The number of reported homicides this year in Saint Paul is now 31.
