14 jurors seated, one more to go in the Derek Chauvin murder trial.
Judge Peter Cahill said it 12 or bust.
Up to a dozen prospective jurors are being questioned today to find what he called the insurance alternate — a person to ensure there are 14 jurors but who will be excused for Monday’s opening statements unless anything happens with a seated juror.
Cahill said it doesn’t matter how long it takes, the final juror is being selected from this group.
Yesterday a white woman in her 20s, a social worker, was selected.
The jury contains 9 women and 5 men. 6 are people of color.
