One of downtown Minneapolis' most well-known gay bars is dropping Anheuser-Busch as a vendor.
Operators of the Saloon announced they'll replace Anheuser-Busch beers with those from local breweries, including Modist and Bauhaus, after the beer giant walked-back from a campaign featuring a trans spokesperson.
"We are lucky enough to be in the position where we can make that kind of decision," Saloon general manager Bobby Palmer told WCCO television. "We can cut ties with that, we can choose what product we're going to have. And we can make a statement with that."
The Saloon's decision comes as Twin Cities Pride Festival gets underway later this week.
