The Minnesota Twins are plowing forward with manager Rocco Baldelli at the helm, as a report says the team has extended his contract “through at least 2025.”

The report comes from MLB insider Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, who shared that the ball club quietly signed the manager to the extension.

Rosenthal shared that the Twins made the decision to extend Baldelli before the 2022 season began, making Tuesday’s breaking news a little old.

“The Twins’ original contract with Baldelli, 41, ran from 2019 to ‘22 with multiple club options, according to a source briefed on the terms,” Rosenthal wrote. “Before last season, the Twins exercised the options and extended Baldelli for an unknown period beyond that, putting him under contract through at least 2025.”

Baldelli is in his fourth season with the Twins after joining the franchise in 2019, a year in which the club hit 101 wins and he won the American League Manager of the Year award.

So far this season, Baldelli’s club is atop the AL Central once again, but only boasting a 25-23 entering play on Tuesday.
