It took less than a day for law enforcement to make an arrest in the Saturday morning shooting that killed two and wounded eight in downtown Minneapolis

The 23-year-old man was arrested in Bloomington on Saturday afternoon, and booked into the Hennepin County jail on probable cause murder.

Police believe this man and another opened fire outside the Monarch Night Club.

"MPD came up with the leads, came up with the identity, and worked with Bloomington in taking him into custody," said Minneapolis city spokesman John Elder.

They also say the other shooter was one of the victims.

The other person shot dead was set to graduate from the University of St. Thomas on Saturday.

Charlie Johnson's name was read at the ceremony at O'Shaughnessy Stadium, and a chair among the other graduates was left empty.
