The Minnesota Timberwolves have released their new Nike 2022-23 NBA City Edition uniforms, which they will wear for 23 games throughout the season, including 10 home games.
The jersey design is a part of the team’s “Own Every Canvas” campaign, and looks to “‘celebrate court + community + culture’ and its impact throughout the state of Minnesota,” according to a press release.
The jerseys have a white base and use colors “from deep within the Timberwolves DNA,” with a colorful pattern above the Minnesota logo on the chest, according to the release. The same color design is also on one leg of the uniform's shorts.
The City Edition jerseys were first released in 2017, and every season since, NBA teams have created a new alternate jersey meant to celebrate and honor each NBA team’s fans and community.
This year’s jersey is the sixth for the franchise and is stacked up against numerous fan favorites, which have included a Prince-themed jersey, a black throwback jersey, and several others.
Timberwolves and Lynx Chief Marketing Officer Mike Grahl shared in a press release that the jersey looks to celebrate the artists who call Minnesota home.
"Sport and art are universal languages that evoke emotion, inspire generations, and grow communities," Grahl said. "Minnesota is home to a community of bold and unique artists, creators, doers and makers across all mediums, and we're excited to commemorate that with this year's City Edition."
