Perhaps he’s not in the prettiest shape, but Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger returned to TIAA Bank Stadium prior to the end of Big Blue’s hold-on win over the Jags, and will fly home with the team.

“He got poked in the eye, and his eye looks terrible right now,” was all head coach Brian Daboll said about the situation postgame.

Bellinger was poked in the eye while making a catch late in the second quarter, and was carted off with his left eye swollen and bloodied.
He was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, but was able to return to the stadium and will likely undergo further tests back in New York.

Although Bellinger was able to rejoin his team, SNY’s Connor Hughes confirmed that his eye is in rough shape:

The Giants also lost offensive linemen Ben Bredeson and Evan Neal to knee injuries during the game. Daboll had no word on those players, but according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the team is optimistic they avoided serious injuries.
