Kayvon Thibodeaux knows his Giants history. When asked if he hoped to follow the path of franchise defensive greats like Lawrence Taylor, the new Big Blue pass rusher quickly interjected to give love to one of his idols.
“Don’t forget Money Mike, Michael Strahan,” Thibodeaux said. “That’s my guy. I’m gonna always be me, but I’m gonna put the work in to try to get where those guys went. I’m, gonna go to those guys and get all the knowledge I can.”

Thibodeaux, taken fifth overall by the Giants, is ready to blaze his own trail by getting right to work. He hopes to reach the levels of success that the likes of Taylor and Strahan achieved in New York, and he’s going to do it the only way he knows how.
“I’m hungry every day,” Thibodeaux said. “When you're asleep, I'm working. When you wake up, I'm still working. And when the fourth quarter comes, do not get out of your seats because I’m. Working. Imma sleep when I'm dead.”
In the mind of Thibodeaux, his success in previous levels is now also dead. It’s time to get to work and focus on rising to stardom at the next level, the highest level, under the brightest spotlight.
“Now it’s really time,” Thibodeaux said. “It's put up or shut up. I didn't work this hard in high school and all this to get in the league and not continue to be that competitor that I am.”
