Last week, in the midst of a blowout loss to the Rams, Giants defensive lineman Leonard Williams was seen making a shooing motion at the fans leaving MetLife Stadium early, and after the game, he complained about hearing boos from his home crowd.

Apparently, that’s water under the bridge, as Williams was seen blowing kisses to the crowd after the Giants recorded a safety to make it 3-2 early on.

“I was joking around with one of the fans in the crowd pregame, so then after I got a safety, I was doing it again to him,” Williams said.

Apparently, during pregame warmups, the fan Williams was referring to made similar shooing motions to what he saw last week in Williams’ direction, but instead of retaliating, the lineman had a different idea that he recycled in a big spot.

“Instead of doing it back, I just like blew him kisses,” Williams laughed. “Then, when I got the safety, I did it again to him.”

And all that got a much better reaction as the game went on, as the three points Carolina scored early were the only ones the Giants surrendered all day.

“We've got to play better, and we've got to earn the right to get cheered. That's just the way it is, and we understand that,” Williams said. “We showed up today and balled out.”

That first sentiment was echoed by defensive back Logan Ryan who, as stoked as he was to get their first home win in front of fans in a long time, was equally excited to do it on Marvel Day, where the Giants gave away a comic book featuring various Big Blue players as superheroes.

“It felt great, and it won't be our last,” Ryan said. “We got a good comic book, thought that was pretty cool. My kids were obviously excited I'm a superhero. So, you left with a comic book and a win, you can't get better than that. I definitely wanted to win for Marvel Day and I wanted to win for the fans.”
