Jake Fromm took a large chunk of first-team reps last week, preparing to make his NFL debut as the Giants’ starter in Los Angeles before Mike Glennon cleared concussion protocol.
Finally, on Sunday, after two uninspiring games from Glennon, Fromm entered with 3:41 left in the fourth quarter and the Giants down 21-6 to take his first game snaps since the 2020 Sugar Bowl – and proceeded to complete his first four passes while running a hurry-up offense.

Fromm, signed off Buffalo’s practice squad on Nov. 30 after Daniel Jones was injured, was a fifth-round pick of the Bills in 2020 but did not see any action in one and a half seasons there.
Still, the former Georgia Bulldog, who had less than three full weeks of reps with the Giants playbook, came out firing in his NFL debut, going 4-4 for 36 yards (sandwiched around a sack) before throwing two straight incompletions just after the two-minute warning, both of which hit receiver Sterling Shepard.
Fromm then hit Kenny Golladay with a pair of great passes – one along the sidelines that gave Big Blue a first down after review, and then a 36-yard bomb down to Dallas’ 14 – before the Giants eventually turned the ball over on downs in the red zone to effectively end the game.
That said, Fromm finished 6-of-12 for 82 yards, nearly eclipsing the 99 yards passing Glennon had on the day in just two minutes of possession.
