Aaron Rodgers finally revealed his NFL intentions on Wednesday, making another appearance on the Pat McAfee Show to tell the world that he intends to play for the Jets in 2023.
According to the future Hall of Famer, the only road block now is the Packers agreeing to a deal with New York.
On that from, Rodgers says it’s time for the only franchise he has ever known to make a deal happen and grant his wish, after Green Bay president Mark Murphy made it clear last week that the team plans to move on to Jordan Love at quarterback.
“Now it’s time to do the right thing,” Rodgers said. “I don’t think there’s a scenario where they’re like, ‘Well, we want this and the Jets aren’t willing to give it to us so we’ll take you back.’ That’s not the reality.”
NFL Network reported Wednesday morning that the Packers are looking for multiple first-round picks for Rodgers, a price the Jets surely are not looking to pay. But given where things stand, with nearly all other veteran quarterbacks off the board, and with the Packers voicing their intentions for the future, the two sides will have to get a deal done, and likely will.
