Robert Saleh was once again a main topic of conversation following the latest episode of Hard Knocks, and Gio couldn’t get past the “cheesy” nature of Saleh’s messages to the team.

“I don’t think he’s faking anything, I just think that he’s cheesy,” Gio said. “He does not have the je ne sais quoi that Dan Cambpell or one of these football coaches that just stands in front of the team and commands it. he has to read stuff. It doesn’t seem like he comes up with it on his own in front of the team.

“He did the crow and the eagle thing, then the commander, survivor thing or something else. It feels like he’s just reading this self-help book and just regurgitating this stuff to the team.”

Gio went on to present a comical, hypothetical scenario in which Saleh draws a chicken on the board during a team meeting and gives a passionate speech about why the chicken crossed the road, because he read it in a book the night before. That’s how he sees Saleh approaching his motivational messages, and while he believes the emotion and intent is authentic, it doesn’t seem like the makeup of your typical fiery head coaches in the NFL that control the room.

“I feel like Rob Saleh will see something on Instagram or TikTok, like he admitted, or he sees something in a book, and he just puts it in front of him in a meeting and jams a bunch of f-words around it,” Gio said. “And that’s his inspirational speech.”
