New York Jets defensive back Elijah Riley was carted off the field on a backboard in the third quarter of Sunday’s game in Miami after a collision with a teammate.

Riley was attempting to tackle Dolphins running back Duke Johnson when his head and neck collided at an awkward angle with the legs of a teammate, who also went sprawling to the ground:
Riley’s facemask was removed and he was strapped to a backboard, but thankfully, Riley was able to raise his arm as he was being carted off, so he had feeling in his upper extremities at least. The Jets listed it as a neck injury when they ruled him out for the game shortly after.
The Jets led the Dolphins 17-10 at the time, although Miami scored – on a Johnson TD – later in that drive to tie the game.
