Zach Wilson, standing at 6-foot-2, checked in at 214 pounds at BYU’s Pro Day before he was drafted by the Jets last year, but head coach Robert Saleh says the sophomore quarterback is bulking up for year two.
“Zach looks good,” Saleh said at Jets rookie camp on Saturday. “He’s definitely hit the weight room, looks beefy. In a good way.”

While Saleh acknowledged Wilson’s new “beefy” look, he also mentioned that he doesn’t see it impacting his agility, only noticing a difference in strength for the 22-year-old.
“He’s definitely filled out, but he’s still got all his looseness in throwing the football and zip and all that stuff,” Saleh said. “He looks good.”
Saleh added that Wilson’s case is not unique among the Jets, who have been hitting the weight room over the offseason to get ready to take the next step forward in 2022.
“A lot of guys look good,” Saleh said. “You can tell a lot of guys have put in a lot of work since January, and they’re ready to roll.”
