Now that Aaron Rodgers is coming to the Jets, many fans are getting on the “Super Bowl or bust” train, seeing Gang Green as a team that was one good quarterback away from being legit contenders.

Now, they have a great quarterback, but Sal doesn’t get why fans would so quickly jump to such extremes when it comes to expectations for a team currently holding the longest playoff drought in professional sports.

“Why do we have to go from zero to a million when it’s Aaron Rodgers coming to the Jets?” Sal said. “How about you have a chance? You’re still aware of the Bengals, the Chiefs, the Ravens. The Jets, yeah, they’re in that conversation now…but if the Jets win the division, win a couple playoff games, is the trade a failure?”

Sal says absolutely no to that last question. Rodgers is only here for two years, maybe even one, and the trade to bring him to New York shouldn’t be seen as a failure if he doesn’t lead the Jets to the big game.

“People are painting it like if they don’t get to a Super Bowl or don’t win a Super Bowl, it’s total failure,” Sal said. “It’s not.”
