The Jets couldn’t complete the comeback on Sunday against the Vikings, with the effort ending on a Mike White interception late in the fourth quarter.
But White still managed to eclipse 300 passing yards for the second straight game, throwing for 369 yards while completing 31 of 57 passes, one of them coming in a tight window to Corey Davis on 4th-and-10 to keep the team’s hopes alive.
In the end, White’s performance only increased the level of respect his teammates have for him in the locker rom.
“That boy is a dog, man,” Garrett Wilson said. “He was out there controlling the huddle, and never let the moment get too big. It was cool to see…I know that I'll go to war for that boy. He's got something special about him.”
Robert Saleh also liked what he saw from White, who seemed to once again solidify that he is more equipped to lead this offense than the previously struggling Zach Wilson, who was once again inactive on Sunday.
“He kept his composure and stayed in the game,” Saleh said. “Made some big, big throws.”
