WFAN staffers, insiders react to Jets' win over Rams

For the first time in 356 days, the New York Jets are victors thanks to a 23-20 win over the Rams. It was their first since last Dec. 29, when they defeated the Bills 13-6 in Buffalo, and, as 17-point underdogs, they likely won a lot of folks a lot of coin with their second-biggest spread upset in the Super Bowl era (behind only Super Bowl III).

What they also did, however, was disappoint a good chunk of their fan base, because the victory, at least temporarily, ended the #TankForTrevor mantra; Jacksonville has an easier strength of schedule, and if the two teams end up tied at 1-15 (or, by some stroke of Christmas magic, 2-14 or 3-13), the Jaguars would get the No. 1 pick and the right to select Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence.

Included in that fan base is a large portion of WFAN’s production roster, from Evan Roberts and the Twitter-less Joe Benigno down to a lot of behind-the-scenes folks (like overnight producer/engineer Paul Rosenberg).

We can only wonder what Joe’s reaction is right now (and maybe he’ll give a call in sometime tomorrow to let us know?), but thanks to social media, we know what a lot of WFAN hosts, producers, and insiders had to say about Gang Green’s first win in a year – and yeah, it’s exactly what you think.
