Tiki and Tierney were raving about the Mets’ handling of Timmy Trumpet and Edwin Diaz in what has now become a viral entrance for the dominant New York closer, which led to the realization that only one team in the city right now has the feel of fun.
The team across town, so used to dominating the headlines and winning culture, is now the one that is lagging behind.
“They feel fun and must-watch,” Tiki said of the Mets. “When you do little things like having a trumpet player…and have him live play, and Diaz comes out of the pen, it’s like ‘Dude, this is amazing.’ It makes you happy to watch the Mets. Whereas the Yankees, by contrast, it’s almost depressing.”
BT, the noted Yankee fan, couldn’t agree more.
“It’s laborious,” BT said. “The Yankees are a laborious watch, and the Mets are an energetic watch. It’s the complete opposite.”
