Noah Syndergaard rips MLB for scheduling Mets/Dodgers on Sunday night

Noah Syndergaard is not happy with the Mets’ scheduling heading into the new week.

New York is in the midst of a tough three-game set with the Dodgers, which will be concluded on Sunday Night Baseball before the team heads out west.

Typically, teams are given day games on travel days, as the Mets don’t have Monday off, instead head right to San Francisco to take on the Giants, who currently boast the best record in baseball. With that in mind, the Mets righty doesn’t care for his team having to play a night game against another NL West juggernaut with little time to rest before facing another Goliath.

“Whose dumb f---ing idea was it to change tomorrow’ game to a night game when we’re traveling to the west coast after?” Syndergaard wrote in an Instagram post. “Won’t get in until Monday morning. Take on the first-place Giants later that evening. Brilliant!”

Syndergaard even went to bat for the Dodgers, who don’t have Monday off either and will be traveling back home to host the Pirates. But the Mets, in the midst of an intense battle for the NL East crown, have 13 straight games against the Dodgers and Giants and could use any advantage or time to recuperate that is available to them, but there won’t be much between Sunday and Monday.

Syndergaard won’t be as directly affected as the rest of his teammates, as he is still rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and elbow inflammation, but he made sure to go to bat for his group that is trying to reach the postseason for the first time in five years.
