Aaron Judge went deep twice in the Yankees’ Subway Series sweep of the Mets, which was no surprise to boomer that the superstar chose to break out of his power slumber while under the bright lights of the battle for New York bragging rights.
“Of course Aaron Judge shows up in the big moments,” Boomer said. “And who used to show up in the big moments all the time for the Yankees? Derek Jeter.
“They have to keep him on this team.”
Gio isn’t surprised that the Yankees have been able to turn things around as soon as Judge started hitting again, as that has been the case all season for the Bombers and their MVP candidate.
“When Aaron Judge is going, the team is going,” Gio said. “There’s no coincidence that Aaron Judge’s worst stretch of the year coincided with the team’s worst stretch of the year, and all of a sudden he’s hitting home runs again and they have a three-game winning streak.”
