Clint Frazier's health struggles continue with Cubs, had appendectomy on Friday

Former Yankee Clint Frazier’s unfortunate run of injuries has continued, as the Cubs placed the outfielder on the IL on Friday due to appendicitis, and he underwent a successful appendectomy.

Per the Cubs, Frazier is “doing well,” though there is no timetable for his return.

Frazier, 27, signed a one-year deal with Chicago after the 2021 season, when he missed over half the Yankees season with vertigo, which he later revealed was a result of a second concussion that he hid from the Yanks. He struggled in the field in 2019 as a result of his first concussion, and appeared to be on track again after a strong showing in 2020, but clearly wasn’t himself to start 2021 after being named the Opening Day starter.

Frazier has just three hits in 21 at-bats for the Cubs in 2022.
