CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Josh Naylor belted a mammoth 405-foot home run in the 4th inning of Game 4 of the American League Division Series and had a special celebration to mark the occasion.
Naylor took a 2-2 pitch from Yankee starter Gerrit Cole and hammered it into the bullpens in right-center field.
Naylor’s bomb brought the Guardians within a run after the Yankees jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The Guardians scratched across a run in the second inning on an RBI single by Jose Ramirez before Naylor’s bomb brought the Guardians within a run.
It’s the 10th-straight start that Cole has allowed a home run. Steven Kwan hit a solo home run off Cole in Game 1 of the ALDS at Yankee Stadium.
Social media was alive with interpretations of what Naylor’s celebration meant, but the dance could likely be traced back to an explanation offered by Guardians starter Triston McKenzie from earlier this season.
