Shaun Morash typically enjoys Aaron Boone’s viral tirades, but Monday’s ejection only left him feeling bummed out.

Boone’s latest rant, directed at home plate umpire Laz Diaz, felt more to Morash like an admission that the end is near.

“I think it’s an admittance. For the first time, I think Aaron Boone is feeling the pressure and feels like change is coming to the Yankees, and if you look around, if you had to pick a likely candidate, it’s him,” Shaun said. “I’ve appreciated Aaron Boone’s fire in a lot of these moments…but last night, for the first time, I felt kind of sorry for him, and I felt embarrassed for him.”

The Yankees couldn’t get off the mat after Boone’s tirade, losing to the lowly White Sox and fading further behind in the playoff race, which Morash believes could result in Boone fading out as Yankees manager. Monday’s eruption felt like emotions boiling over for a skipper who senses that his days are numbered.

“I believe Aaron Boone believes, for the first time, that he may get fired,” Shaun said. “These tirades and these little moments that he has, while appreciated, they’re kind of falling on deaf ears now. The players aren’t reacting to this.”
