The Yankee bats were still ice cold through much of game two, but the defense shined for some sparkling plays, none as brightly as an inning-ending double play started by Gleyber Torres in the bottom of the seventh.

With Jose Altuve at the plate with a runner on first and one out, Altuve ripped a hard line drive towards second off Jonathan Loaisiga, seemingly ticketed for a single and for Altuve’s first hit in 23 at-bats this postseason.

Instead, Torres snagged the hard liner on a short hop while falling to his right, somehow coming up with the pick and flipping the ball to Oswald Peraza from his back, then Peraza did a 360 and fired a short hop of his own that was picked out of the dirt by Anthony Rizzo to complete a wild 4-6-3 double play.

The collective web gem also made it 23 straight at-bats without a hit to start the postseason for Altuve, more than any other hitter in MLB playoff history.
