Allen: Patriots knew what to do to beat Bills on Sunday

Bills quarterback Josh Allen addressed the media following Buffalo's first loss of the season

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills' reign as the only unbeaten team in the NFL was short lived on Sunday, as they ended up on the short end of a 23-20 loss on "Sunday Night Football" against the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills offense did not look like its usual self on Sunday, as they struggled to find momentum throughout the course of the game. It wasn't until the third quarter when the team was able to score their first touchdown, but penalties and turnovers ended up costing Buffalo a shot at a 5-0 start for the first time since 1991.

In the third quarter while in the red zone, one of Buffalo's three turnovers on the night proved costly with quarterback Josh Allen firing an interception to Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones.

"Turning the ball over in the red zone, I can't do that. It's a recipe for disaster," said Allen on Sunday following the loss.

Allen wrapped up his night by going 22-of-31 for 253 yards and a pair of scores, but was credited with his interception and also a lost fumble early in the first quarter.
