Allen: 'Today wasn't our best effort' despite win over Patriots

Bills quarterback Josh Allen addressed the media following his team's 24-21 victory over New England

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - It wasn't the best performance from the Buffalo Bills, but they still bested the New England Patriots on Sunday, 24-21, at Highmark Stadium to improve to 12-3 on the season.

The Bills got out to a sluggish start on both sides of the football, resulting in a 14-7 deficit at halftime in Orchard Park. However, the second half provided fruitful for Buffalo with a couple of scoring drives on offense, and a number of forced turnovers defensively, with one fumble recovery resulting in a touchdown.

Although the Bills came out on top in the end, Bills quarterback Josh Allen acknowledges it wasn't their best offensive performance.

"We have got to find a way to come out in the first half ready to play," said Allen on Sunday following Buffalo's win at Highmark Stadium. "I don't think that's something we did great today, missed some opportunities. Wish I had a few back. That's every game. Glad that our defense and our special teams can step up. They scored on defense, obviously, and we won the turnover battle again. That's complimentary football, and our defense had our back today."

As the game was nearing its end, Allen's throwing arm became a brief concern following a run play where his elbow was struck and he had to be looked at by the training staff.

"I don't know if it was the helmet or the ground, but lost some feeling in my hand," Allen noted. "Just hit the funny bone nerve and went to throw the ball, and just had no feeling in the hand. So it's a tough one."
