Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - With some room to spare on the roster, the Buffalo Bills have added another piece to the defensive front this offseason by claiming defensive tackle Casey Rogers off waivers from the New York Giants.
Rogers was an undrafted free agent signing of the Giants last season out of the University of Oregon. Despite spending most of the 2024 season on the practice squad, Rogers did make an appearance in two games, where he blocked a field goal against the New Orleans Saints.
After signing a reserve/future contract with the Giants in January, Rogers was waived by the team on Thursday.
In two seasons with Oregon, Rogers played 27 games for the Ducks and recorded 56 tackles, 1.5 sacks and seven tackles for a loss. He played a total of five college seasons of football, spending three years at the University of Nebraska between 2019 and 2021.
Rogers attended Westhill High School in Syracuse, where he originally committed to Syracuse University to play lacrosse. However, he decommitted and decided to attend Nebraska to play football.
With the addition of Rogers, the Bills now have five defensive tackles under contract, along with two unsigned draft picks from the 2025 NFL Draft.
