Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills hold off the Kansas City Chiefs again in the regular season with a 28-21 win from Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
The Bills opening drive was a mixture of both James Cook and Kahlil Shakir including a 17-yard rush from Cook. Josh Allen and the offense slice the Chiefs defense hitting Shakir three times on the first drive.
Allen would find tight end Dalton Kincaid wide open for a for a 23-yard touchdown pass taking seven minutes off the clock giving the Bills a quick 7-0 lead.
After stopping the Chiefs on the first drive, the Bills next drive ended on a 4th down attempt giving Kansas City the ball in midfield.
On a short field the Chiefs would get the ball down inside the Bills five. Rashee Rice would take a direct snap and walk untouched for a touchdown tying the game at seven on the first play of the second quarter.
After a quick three-and-out by the Bills. The Chiefs take the ball and drive down the field. The Bills defense were able to make a stop on 3rd down forcing the Chiefs to settle for three with a 46-yard field goal by Harrison Butker.
Facing a 2nd and 13 after a holding penalty. Allen finds Kincaid for a 47-yard pass getting the Bills inside the 10-yard line. It would be Ty Johnson who would find the endzone for the first time this season putting the Bills back in front.
The Chiefs once again getting into Buffalo territory but a 4th down stop as Cole Bishop knocks the ball away giving the ball back to Allen and the offense right before halftime.
Taking advantage of the turnover on downs the tight ends get involved again. Allen finds Dawson Knox for a 30-yard pass getting the Bills down to the three-yard line. Two plays later Allen sneaks it in for another touchdown.
With the touchdown Allen has set an NFL record with the most games with at least a passing and rushing touchdown in 47 games.
The Chiefs waste no time getting down the field with long passes to Travis Kelce and Hollywood Brown set the Chiefs at the one. The defense locks down only allowing the Chiefs to get a chip shot field goal by Butker.
Starting the second half the defense forces two punts with a sack on third down by a host of Bills defenders.
Allen and the offense slice and dice through the Chiefs defense on two deep passes of 20 to Shakir, and 28-yards to Elijah Moore. The Bills would cap off the drive with Josh Allen again using his legs with a little help from O'Cyrus Torrence pushing him across the goal line for Allen's second rushing touchdown of the game.
Starting the 4th quarter the Chiefs are able to convert a 4th-and-17. Now at the two yard line the Chiefs get back in the game with a touchdown by Kareem Hunt on 4th down. The Chiefs go for two, and are successful making it a one score game.
On the drive the Bills took a loss on defense as Michael Hoecht hobbled to the sideline and was ruled out with an Achilles injury.
Chiefs now with the ball with a chance to tie the game. On 3rd and 10 Mahomes throws into double coverage which then is intercepted by rookie Maxwell Hairston for his first interception of his NFL career.
With a seven point lead the Bills begin to run the clock down. The Bills offense stalls. But Matt Prater's field goal from 52-yards hits the upright giving the ball back to the Chiefs.
With one last chance to tie the game the Bills defense finds a way to hold the Chiefs out of the endzone sealing a 28-21 victory over the Chiefs.
