Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Like a good attorney wrapping up a long trial, Stefon Diggs closed the case with his own words.

In front of a group of media members Wednesday after the very first day of Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher University, the veteran wide receiver finally put to rest any lingering questions about his commitment to the organization and his relationships with his quarterback, offensive coordinator, and head coach.

LISTEN LIVE TO WGR:

If there was any doubt still remaining before Wednesday morning, Diggs crushed it by early afternoon.

In an over 20-minute media session, the receiver was fully transparent, open, and honest discussing his feelings about how last season ended and the offseason began way back at mandatory minicamp.

When asked if he still wants to retire a member of the Bills, something he had said in the past, Diggs answered, emphatically, “100%.”

Diggs said he’s always had a good relationship with quarterback Josh Allen, and it continues to be that way, calling Allen “my guy,” and using the word “amazing” to describe his talents.

When questions arose about what transpired at minicamp, when Diggs missed the first day of practice and head coach Sean McDermott first said he was “very concerned,” but the following day said he had excused Diggs, the wideout characterized that as miscommunication, adding it’s “water under the bridge.”

The 29-year-old said the issue stemmed from his frustration about how last year ended and wanting to talk through it, saying he appreciated McDermott’s open door policy and wanted to take advantage of it.

Diggs called it “insane” to suggest he wanted more say in the offensive play-calling, and “outlandish” that people said he questioned his own role, reminding everyone he is a team captain.

Of course, that won’t be good enough for some people. They will no doubt continue to analyze his body language after every play, and still bring all of that up any time it appears there’s an opportunity.

That might come in the form of a loss, or a subpar stat line, or an exchange on the sidelines between him and McDermott or Allen.

That shouldn’t be the case anymore.

Diggs got right to it, less than an hour after the first practice ended, allowing whatever questions remained to be buried among the archives of Bills offseason dramas.

It’s over.

No more wondering.

No more doubt.

No more questions.
