Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills will be looking to win their third-straight game, and also finish off an unbeaten season at home for the first time since 1990 when they face the New York Jets on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
To do it, here are my three keys to the game, plus notes and stats:
1.) Stay focused on the task at hand
The Bills know they've won the division. They know they'll be playing a home playoff game in two weeks. They know they can't gain the top seed in the conference.
What they can't do is let all of that impact their preparation and focus for a game they still need to win to secure the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs.
2.) Don't let Rodgers sit in the pocket
Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is dealing with a knee injury. He's going to play, but he won't be looking to run much, and will be compromised when he has to scramble.
The Bills defense needs to make sure 41-year-old doesn't have time in the pocket by putting pressure on him to either get rid of it, or take hits and, eventually, sacks.
3.) Be better on third down
The Bills have struggled on third down defense this season, letting teams convert on over 44% of their chances, tied for second-worst in the league.
They're seventh in the NFL in third down offense, converting over 43% of their own opportunities, but were just 4-for-11 last week against the New England Patriots.
Both of those areas have to be better against the Jets.
