James Cook returns to practice for Bills

The running back had been staging a hold-in at training camp

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - After not participating throughout a week of practice and sitting on the sidelines for the opening preseason game Saturday against the New York Giants, Buffalo Bills running back James Cook was back on the field with his teammates on Tuesday.

Cook, who had been staging a "hold-in" over the status of his contract, appeared to participate fully in the session held on the outside grass of their practice facility.

Cook declined to speak to reporters after practice.

The Bills running back wasn't the only player who returned to the field on Tuesday.

Safeties Cole Bishop (quad) and Taylor Rapp (knee), as well as wide receiver Kaden Prather (hamstring) were all in uniform and on the field, but limited.

During practice, starting left tackle Dion Dawkins walked into the fieldhouse with athletic trainers. He was still carrying his helmet, but did not return.

After practice, ESPN Bills beat reporter Alaina Getzenberg and WKBW-TV's Matt Bove asked Dawkins if he was OK.

The Bills will practice again on Wednesday, then head to Chicago on Thursday for a joint practice with the Bears on Friday ahead of their Sunday night preseason game.
