Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills have already locked up a playoff spot in the AFC, but can no longer win the AFC East. That means they will either be the 5-, 6- or 7-seed in the AFC Playoffs and be on the road for their opening game in the Wild Card round.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott acknowledged that the team will be determining how much certain players will play in Sunday's regular season finale against the New York Jets at Highmark Stadium. But as the week of preparation starts out on Wednesday, he says it's "business as usual."
"We'll take it one day at a time, and just see how the week unfolds," McDermott told reporters Wednesday morning. "Obviously a lengthy [injury] list here, and we've got to start with that as we go through the week."
Bills quarterback Josh Allen is one of the players on that list. Allen did not participate in Wednesday's walk-through, but McDermott says he's "moving in the right direction."
McDermott also says that tight end Dalton Kincaid is in a better spot than the way he ended last week. Kincaid did not play in the team's 13-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday.
McDermott also gave a new update on Ed Oliver, saying the defensive tackle had a meniscus clean-up on his knee Monday. He is now dealing with that, in addition to recovering from his torn biceps surgery.
Oliver remains on Injured Reserve and will not have his 21-day practice window opened this week. However, McDermott added that Oliver still has a chance to be on the same recovery timeline as initially believed, leaving open the possibility he can return during the playoffs.
