Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Offseason mode has commenced for the Buffalo Sabres and general manager Kevyn Adams after just missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs a couple of weeks ago.

With the Stanley Cup Playoffs currently ongoing with Round 2 getting underway on Tuesday, Adams is still looking to see where he can add and upgrade the team. Whether it will be adding through unrestricted free agency, or even the possibility of making a trade, Adams is hoping to get his team finally over that playoff hump.

With the Sabres being one of the youngest teams in the NHL with the average age just over 25, Adams feels the mindset for his group in Buffalo is one of hunger, and looking to move even more in the right direction for the 2023-24 season.

“I think at the start of the year, there was a lot of maybe hope coming from off of last season. Now it’s flipped from hope to belief,” said Adams during a special one-hour, in studio appearance with the “Jeremy White Show” on WGR.

Adams knows how young his team still is heading into the future, and says he doesn't want to block the development of certain prospects still to come, including the likes of Jiri Kulich, Isak Rosen and Matthew Savoie.

There were certainly many memorable moments over the course of Buffalo's 2022-23 season, and Adams specifically mentioned the overtime win against the Boston Bruins on New Year's Eve, and even when Ilya Lyubushkin scored shorthanded in overtime to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning later in the year.
