The NHL resumes action Tuesday night after a league-wide shutdown due to rising cases of COVID-19 throughout the league.
However, some games are still being postponed as a result of issues related to COVID-19. One of those games postponed on Tuesday includes a contest originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 8 between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

While the Sabres-Canadiens matchup is not being postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak, the game will be re-scheduled due to Canadian attendance restrictions.
With strict rules on limited capacity in Canada, the NHL is attempting to push back these games to have them played later in the season in front of more people.
The Sabres have not played in Montreal since March 23, 2019.
