Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed Rochester Americans winger Linus Weissbach to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000. The two-way aspect of his deal means his AHL salary will be less.
Buffalo took the 25-year-old in the seventh round of the 2017 NHL Draft. After playing four years of college hockey with the University of Wisconsin Badgers, Weissbach has played two seasons with the Amerks.
Weissbach has yet to be called up by the Sabres.

In 136 AHL games, the winger has 36 goals and 48 assists for 84 points. In 12 playoff games last season, he netted three goals and seven assists for 10 points.
Weissbach had a big senior season with the Badgers, picking up 41 points in 31 games. It helped that he was on a line with Montreal Canadiens winger Cole Caufield.
The Swedish-born winger is undersized at 5-foot-9 and 177 pounds, but provides plenty of skill and is willing to go to the hard areas to score.
