Krebs' new two-year contract carries an average annual value of $1.45 million

Buffalo N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The final remaining unsigned player ahead of the 2024-25 season is now under contract.

The Buffalo Sabres announced on Tuesday the signing of forward Peyton Krebs to a two-year contract with an annual value at $1.45 million. The signing was first reported by Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.

Last season was a bit of a down year for Krebs, who scored four goals and added 14 assists in 80 games for the Sabres. The year prior saw Krebs net a career-best nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points in 74 games for Buffalo.

The 23-year-old was acquired by the Sabres back in 2021 as part of the Jack Eichel trade with the Vegas Golden Knights. In his 202 games played with the Sabres, Krebs has scored 20 goals and registered 45 assists for 65 points as primarily a depth forward.

The Sabres report for training camp in Downtown Buffalo on Tuesday, with camp officially opening at KeyBank Center on Wednesday.
