Sabres sign goaltender Eric Comrie to two-year deal

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – As the NHL Free Agency period officially opened at 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, the Buffalo Sabres make an addition in goal, signing Eric Comrie to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $1.8 million.

Comrie has spent time at the NHL level with the Winnipeg Jets, New Jersey Devils and Detroit Red Wings. The 27-year-old was originally drafted by Winnipeg in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Over the span of 28 games in his NHL career, Comrie has posted a 12-8-1 record with a 3.06 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage and one shutout.

Last season, Comrie spent time as the backup for the Jets and goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
