Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Sabres will be participating in the 2023 Kraft Hockeyville series this preseason when they will play the Toronto Maple Leafs in a game at Joe Thornton Community Centre in St. Thomas, Ontario. The game is set for Wednesday, Sept. 27.
It was the first of seven preseason games announced for the Sabres on Wednesday, and will be the third game on their preseason schedule. It is still unclear when the National Hockey League will announce its schedule for the 2023-24 regular season.
A start time for the schedule preseason game has yet to be announced.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for our organization to compete in a unique environment that is dedicated to strengthening communities and fostering inclusivity in our sport through the community's passion for hockey.
"It is an embodiment of our organizational dedication to the future of the sport and the fans who care deeply about the game."
West Lorne, Ontario was one of Kraft Hockeyville's winning communities for 2023. It is located about 40 minutes Southwest from St. Thomas heading towards Detroit.
Winning Kraft Hockeyville will help West Lorne Arena complete a range of upgrades including a new front entrance with more accessible larger doors, new dressing rooms to accommodate more players and an expanded warm room for families and fans. Each winning community receives $250,000 for arena upgrades.
The NHLPA Goals and Dreams fund also donated $10,000 worth of youth hockey equipment to the winners.
The NHL's other Kraft Hockeyville game this year will take place on Oct. 1 in Sydney, Nova Scotia between the Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators.
