(WGR 550) – The Buffalo Sabres could be getting, at least, one player back from the NHL's COVID-19 Protocol list.

Vinnie Hinostroza was with the team in New York on Thursday and did test with the team. It’s not known if he accompanied the team to Boston, where they’ll play on New Year’s Day at 1 p.m. EST. General manager Kevyn Adams has said all along that Hinostroza was asymptomatic.

Hinostroza has missed two games since being put in the protocol. He was the second Sabres player to go into protocol after Dustin Tokarski.

No word on if any of the others - Zemgus Girgensons, Jeff Skinner, Mark Jankowski, Jacob Bryson or Dylan Cozens - are on the trip.
