FACTORYVILLE, PA — A Dalton police officer was stabbed Wednesday night while responding to a reported domestic disturbance at a home in Factoryville, according to state police. The suspect, identified as Devan Fenton, has been charged with multiple felonies and is being held without bail.
Fenton was charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and disarming a law enforcement officer, as well as misdemeanor counts of simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment. The incident occurred when the officer arrived at the residence to investigate the domestic dispute.
Following his arraignment on Thursday morning before Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Y. Vandine, Fenton was sent to the Wyoming County Correctional Facility. Bail was denied by the judge, who determined that Fenton "poses a threat to society." The name and condition of the injured officer have not been released.
A preliminary hearing for Fenton is scheduled for October 14. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
