EDWARDSVILLE, PA — A routine traffic stop for a vehicle code violation turned into a major felony arrest last week after Pennsylvania State Police discovered the driver was a wanted man. On January 8, troopers stopped a vehicle on South Wyoming Avenue in Edwardsville and identified the operator as 42-year-old Deshawn Anderson of Plymouth.

During the interaction, a records check revealed that Anderson had an active, extraditable warrant issued by authorities in Rhode Island. The warrant stems from a probation violation related to an original charge of manslaughter. According to state police records, the out-of-state agency confirmed the warrant and their intent to proceed with extradition.

Anderson was taken into custody without incident and arraigned before a magisterial district judge. He is currently being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail while he awaits the legal process to return him to Rhode Island to face the charges.
